What are the challenges involved in keeping the cleanrooms infrastructure running smoothly at BD?
Michel Hallaf: We have 22 cleanrooms and 4 controlled-atmosphere laboratories... You might as well say that these infrastructures are at the heart of the company's activity, so the stakes are high, because the slightest fault can block or delay our production. Keeping them running smoothly requires constant attention, and I'm in charge...
It's a heavy responsibility?
MH: It's my job and I try to surround myself with the right people!
Precisely... You've been working with VÊPRES for 20 years?
MH: Absolutely. And VÊPRES is our exclusive partner for the construction and maintenance of our cleanrooms systems. They know our installations inside out, and know how to react to any situation, whether it involves design, modification or maintenance.
For example?
MH: It would take us hours to list all the examples... Let's just say that even in an emergency, they're there immediately. And above all, with solutions! I've called them on a Friday evening and was sure they'd be able to help me even though it was the weekend.
How do they do it?
MH: They have a really professional approach. With experience, they anticipate, they watch out, they stock sensitive parts in advance... I really thank Jean-Michel DUSSERRE, our project manager, and his technicians who work for BD as if they were at home, with involvement, energy and above all uncommon skills.
