LUMIBIRD / QUANTEL TECHNOLOGIES, a specialist in laser technologies, was previously located in Les Ulis. Due to significant expansion, the company relocated to a larger existing facility in Villejust (Essonne). As the existing building was not adequately designed to support the weight of a new cleanroom ceiling, VÊPRES had to provide a secondary metallic structure to accommodate the additional loads. This structure also facilitated the elevated installation of air handling units, thereby optimizing floor space and maximizing volume for LUMIBIRD's storage and operational activities.

A sustained pace
Among the constraints VÊPRES had to contend with, an ambitious schedule stands out! The order was placed in May 2022, with delivery scheduled for the end of the same year. Significant internal resources were therefore mobilized, particularly during the summer period, and a sustained pace had to be imposed on the assembly teams. Particular attention was paid to co-activity with other trades throughout the construction site. Commissioning, for its part, took place between December 15th and 31st, a holiday period usually not conducive to significant team mobilization... Finally, the company had to manage the extended lead times for raw material supplies that characterized 2022. These are all challenges that VÊPRES successfully overcame once again!

It was formed in 2017 through the merger of the KEOPSYS group, specializing in fiber laser technologies, and the QUANTEL group, a specialist in solid-state, diode, and medical laser technologies. For the Villejust cleanroom project, LUMIBIRD reaffirmed its confidence in VÊPRES, which had previously contributed to earlier projects.
