Covid and VÊPRES: Where do we stand?

Completely unprecedented and unexpected, the « Covid crisis » at VÊPRES further reinforced our values and convictions.

Like all companies in France, VÊPRES had to adapt to the challenging conditions created by the Covid crisis, including team concerns for workplace safety, family constraints due to lockdown, closure of client sites, and border closures. While the company's operations did not cease, they were significantly modified to adapt and implement the necessary safety measures for everyone.

Our outstanding teams!

In record time, with total commitment and incredible energy, our teams successfully adapted their working conditions and organized their processes to ensure business continuity both within the company and for clients:

VÊPRES cleanroom workshop

  • implementation of teleworking for eligible activities,
  • working conditions adapted to all contexts,
  • coordination of attendance schedules,
  • implementation of preventive measures, hygiene and safety instructions at our Claix site and on construction sites,
  • numerous volunteer employees in the field, for supervision, and in logistics.

Our sincere gratitude to all our teams for their « collective spirit », their readiness to adapt to conditions, especially for those who worked on-site at client locations and construction sites, and who may have been particularly exposed to significant constraints.

Our valued and satisfied clients!

Business continuity was paramount to maintain for many of our clients. We implemented comprehensive measures to support them with solutions tailored to their requirements and constraints.

At BD, for instance, while the situation has made security measures even more critical, our teams have taken the necessary steps to continue ongoing projects within their ZACs (controlled atmosphere zones). VÊPRES proposed tailored solutions: protective screens, installation of specific furniture…

Michel HALLAF – Head of General Services at BD : « VÊPRES is consistently present and reliable. Since the very first day the site was established in Pont de Claix, we have been able to rely on you. The concept of 'SERVICE' has been particularly meaningful during the period we have navigated. Exceptional staff. THANK YOU. »

For all our clients, we have supported departments and personnel to address their constraints and alleviate their burdens by consistently offering proactive solutions…

Jean-Charles EXCOFFIER – New Works Project Engineer at SOITEC : « The VÊPRES teams adapted to the situation and its developments despite the additional constraints we had to impose. This unprecedented period once again highlighted our genuine partnership, where both parties (Soitec and VÊPRES) could rely on each other to ensure projects/activities continued safely. »

Cédric LABARTINO – Hook-up Manager at STMicroelectronics Crolles : « I wish to commend the dedication of the VÊPRES teams and management within this exceptional context of Covid-19, particularly concerning the implementation of enhanced safety protocols. »

The bad news…

For over 50 years, VÊPRES has organized its annual “lunch” in June. This is a significant occasion where clients, teams, and partners gather for a very convivial buffet. However, the current post-lockdown conditions and necessary health measures for everyone's safety compel us to cancel this event, which holds such importance in the company's life.

This is a first; it has never happened before! However, we all know it is the best decision to make, and we are confident that next time, the lunch will be even more successful.

Good news!

Undoubtedly, VÊPRES inevitably experienced an unforeseen decline in activity during the second quarter. However, our order book is full with projects that must be delivered. Our teams are fully engaged and more motivated than ever!

Since June 2nd, one of our teams has already been in Finland. Indeed, 2020 marks a significant turning point for VÊPRES with several export projects. We are also heading to Belgium and Mauritius. Quite exciting, isn't it?

This growth is fueled by both « traditional » clientele (microelectronics, medical devices) and emerging sectors such as food processing, where the implementation of Cleanrooms becomes strategic for quality and productivity. Consequently, VÊPRES' expertise is now sought after by numerous industries, indicating a very promising future.

Directors Cédric MERCIER and Guy VÊPRES wish to extend their warmest thanks to the VÊPRES team and their families, clients, and partners. The COVID crisis has once again highlighted all the values the company upholds, which are its roots and foundations, primarily based on its people.
