How did SGH Healthcaring come about?

Jérôme EMPEREUR: The group was born in January 2018 with the support of major investors MERIEUX Equity Partner fund and GIMV fund. We currently have three production sites, Stiplastic in Isère, Rovipharm in Ain and Eskiss in Allier. They employ around 250 people and generate sales of €40 million. We've set ourselves a target of €100 million, with a growth model that combines organic and external growth. We should reach €60 million by the end of 2020, so we're on the right track.

Do you specialize in medical devices?

JE: Yes, we do focus on plastics processing for pharmaceutical laboratory customers. We specialize in plastic injection molding for the manufacture of medical devices. As part of our growth, the integration of Eskiss has enabled us to broaden our know-how to include injection blow-molding and extrusion blow-molding. This opens up new markets for us, such as food supplements (VMS).

How did you hear about VÊPRES?

JE: As a medical device manufacturer, we were one of their commercial "targets" when they started to broaden their spectrum beyond microelectronics. And I was able to meet the managers through the Réseau Entreprendre Isère network. Our first collaboration took place when the group integrated RR Plastic and we decided to transfer production to the Stiplastic site.

So, a conclusive first experience?

JE: Indeed, the technical solutions proposed matched our expectations, and the worksite went off perfectly in terms of quality and adherence to deadlines. This was very important, as they were able to schedule the work exactly in line with our financial constraints. A true partnership!

A privileged partnership?

JE: Indeed. Given our development ambitions, it's strategic to be able to rely on reliable partners. Especially since VÊPRES has the ability to manage projects from A to Z. Subsequently, we entrusted them with a major redevelopment project at our Rovipharm site. They rose to the challenge, and our on-site teams are delighted with the result and the collaboration. It's a source of personal satisfaction for me, because I insisted that Vêpres be consulted on the call for tenders, without imposing the choice of service provider.
