A major project for DIAMFAB and diamond semiconductors!
Corporate lifeVÊPRES will act as general contractor for the complete fit-out of the Isère-based start-up's production site, including a cleanroom with ISO7 and ISO8 zones.
Grenoble-based deep-tech start-up DIAMFAB, a spin-off from the Institut Néel-CNRS, has entrusted VÊPRES with a strategic project. The project, located in Fontaine (Isère), concerns the complete refurbishment of DIAMFAB's production site, in an existing building, dedicated to the manufacture of synthetic semiconductor diamonds. We need a controlled environment to eliminate anything that might interfere with our production," explains Khaled Driche, co-founder, with Gauthier Chicot, of DIAMFAB. Our ambition is to offer an alternative to silicon, thanks in particular to diamond's exceptional performance in terms of energy efficiency and resistance to high temperatures, radiation and high voltages."
One project, many challenges
The main objective is to install a cleanroom, meeting the requirements of ISO7 and ISO8 standards for the production of synthetic diamonds intended for use as semiconductors. The manufacture of this type of sensitive component requires environments with very high standards of cleanliness, essential to guarantee optimal control of production conditions. The start-up has also entrusted VÊPRES with all the building's civil engineering and structural works, as well as carpentry, joinery, electricity and special fluids.
Expertise and trust
"We chose VÊPRES for their technical expertise, their interpersonal skills and the quality of our exchanges. We appreciated their transparency and educational approach. With a tight budget, they were able to propose appropriate solutions without compromising our project. We had many constructive discussions, and they fully understood the constraints associated with our process," continues Khaled Driche.
General contractor
It's an exciting project for several reasons," explains Éric Bernard-Brunel, Managing Director of VÊPRES. Firstly, it involves a local start-up with an innovative process. Secondly, it's a program that goes beyond the realization of a cleanroom , since we're acting as general contractor with a global fit-out of the building." This choice testifies to VÊPRES ' ability to manage complex projects and coordinate large-scale projects, while ensuring the implementation of appropriate solutions.
