Major Project for DIAMFAB and Semiconductor Diamond!
Corporate LifeVÊPRES will undertake, as general contractor, the complete fit-out of the Isère-based startup's production site, including, among other elements, a cleanroom with ISO 7 and ISO 8 zones.
The Grenoble-based deeptech startup DIAMFAB, a spin-off from the Néel Institute-CNRS, entrusted VÊPRES with a strategic project. This project, located in Fontaine (Isère), involves the complete development of DIAMFAB's production site within an existing building, dedicated to the manufacturing of semiconductor synthetic diamonds. « We require a controlled environment to eliminate anything that could interfere with our production, explains Khaled Driche, co-founder, with Gauthier Chicot, of DIAMFAB. Our ambition is to offer an alternative to silicon, notably thanks to diamond's exceptional performance in terms of energy efficiency and resistance to high temperatures, radiation, and high voltages. »
A project, its challenges
The primary objective is to install a cleanroom, meeting the requirements of ISO7 and ISO8 standards for the production of synthetic diamonds intended for use as semiconductors. The manufacturing of such sensitive components requires environments with extremely high cleanliness standards, essential for ensuring optimal control of production conditions. The startup also entrusted VÊPRES with the general contracting aspect, including all civil engineering, structural work, as well as carpentry, joinery, electrical systems, and special fluids.
