Simulation-based recruitment method: a success!

HR News

VÊPRES innovates with simulation-based recruitment. And it works! Two new permanent hires thanks to this solution.

Simulation-based recruitment method at VÊPRES

You have to know how to innovate in every field. At VÊPRES we know this, and recruitment is no exception. Since 2021, we have been using the simulation-based recruitment method(SRM) to fill certain positions. And this solution is bearing fruit, as René BERNARD and M'Bemba GUIRASSY have just signed their permanent contracts as fitters. A method that works, as HR Manager Marlène COTTET points out: " Since 2021, VÊPRES has carried out 5 MRSs for fitter positions. This represents 6 fixed-term contracts and 3 conversions to open-ended contracts. René took part in the September 2022 session and signed a fixed-term contract on November 22. As for M'Bemba, he took part in the December 2022 session, then signed a fixed-term contract on January 9, 2023. Two CDDs now converted into CDIs!

Simulation recruitment method

This recruitment solution differs from the usual methods based on CV and experience. Simulation-based recruitment focuses on skills, i.e. the abilities needed to perform a job. Since it is carried out without a CV, SRM enables us to broaden our search for candidates and find people whose skills match the positions we offer. VÊPRES is used to thinking outside the box when it comes to recruitment, as we did at the DesTalents H+ trade fair.

How does it work?

The simulation recruitment method follows a defined process. To carry out the process, the company and the MRS team from Pôle Emploi hold a group information meeting with the candidates who have applied for the vacancy. "At this meeting, we present VÊPRES, the position, the benefits, the working conditions, and then the MRS team presents the scheme," explains Marlène COTTET.

Interested candidates sign up for a series of tests consisting of exercises, predefined between the MRS team and the company, based on the job visit and job description, in order to carry out a calibration to define the threshold score. The aim is to measure the candidate's skills in relation to the proposed position. If they reach the threshold mark, they are granted an interview with the company, which may lead to a fixed-term contract of at least 6 months, subsequently convertible to a permanent contract.

This is how René BERNARD and M'Bemba GUIRASSY joined the VÊPRES teams. Welcome to them and thank you to the MRS Pôle Emploi team in Meylan!
